Attention! Communities Around Little Calumet River May 20-27


Attention! On Friday May 20th the application of a fish toxicant (Rotenone) will take place on the Little Calumet River, for a 2 mile stretch down stream of the T.J. O'Brien Lock and Dam. Between May 20-27, 2010 the public should:

NOT swim or recreate in the Little Calumet River
NOT fish in the Little Calumet River
NOT eat fish found in the Little Calumet River

Rotenone is toxic to aquatic gill breathing organisms and not known to be harmful to humans or most other animals.

Your drinking water is safe!

Members of communities near the treatment area should refrain from using the Little Calumet River between May 20-27.
